TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Bakersfield, California, 93301 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Required to submit Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Proficiency in Cerner Job Description: - Unit consists of 31 beds (11 private & 10 semi-private) - Patient ratios are maintained at 1 to 4 - Charge Nurse presence with Shift Manager & a Resource Nurse - Support from Nurse Aides: 2 on days & 1 on nights - Weekend requirement: 4 shifts out of a 4-week schedule; for nights, shifts are Fri/Sat & Sat/Sun for days - Travelers participate in the permanent staff holiday rotation schedule, working 1 major holiday & 1 minor holiday - Required scrub color: Navy blue, including scrub jackets; undershirts must be navy, white, or black - Experience with Philips telemetry equipment required, must be able to read & interpret all cardiac rhythms - Respiratory care support: CPAP or BiPAP provided by RT - Hospitalist or Intensivist presence in-house, on-call after hours - No IV team available; RT and Pharmacy available 24/7 with Omnicell system - Shifts are 12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30; block scheduling considered based on unit needs - Travelers are first to float and may move between related units - Floor-specific orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor - Common diagnoses and patient types include post pacer, hemodialysis, new onset afib or RVR, post ICU stepdown, surgical patients, oncology with cardiac monitoring, some correctional patients, strokes, TBI, high acuity, bedsores, peg tubes, and sepsis Cancellation Policy: Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract, which could be a full shift or any part of a shift. Hospital may also choose to pay full hours for a particular shift in lieu of cancellation.
